Robert Creamer

Robert Creamer has been a political organizer and strategist for almost five decades and has worked with many of the country's most significant issue campaigns.

He managed a national campaign to limit the Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy in 2003 and was a key architect of the successful national campaign to stop the privatization of Social Security in 2005.

During the Obama Administration, he worked closely with the White House to pass the Affordable Care Act, hold Wall Street accountable, increase the minimum wage, improve overtime pay, pass progressive budget priorities, enact comprehensive immigration reform, pass legislation to stem gun violence, and gain confirmation for President Obama’s nominations to the Supreme Court.

He served as General Consultant to Americans United for Change where he helped coordinate the campaign to pass President Obama’s landmark jobs and economic recovery legislation, and the successful effort to pass the Iran Nuclear Agreement in 2015.

Since President Trump’s election, he has worked closely with a wide array of grass roots organizations to create “The Resistance” to Trump’s legislative agenda.

In the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Presidential election campaigns he served as a consultant to the Democratic National Committee and coordinated the field based rapid response to Republican candidates McCain, Palin, Romney, Ryan, Pence and Trump.

During his career, he has worked on hundreds of electoral campaigns at the local, state and national level.

He is also an author and regular contributor to the Huffington Post.  Creamer is married to Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky from Illinois.  His 2008 book is titled, Stand Up Straight: How Progressives Can Win.
